The PlayStation 5 was the second best-selling console in the UK for the second month in a row, enjoying its second best month in March, allowing it to overtake consoles such as the PS Vita, Wii U and Dreamcast in sales.
The arrival of more shares in UK stores helped the PS5 become the best-selling console and the Xbox Series X | S also gained shares, which allowed it to be ahead of the Nintendo Switch. For the first time in many years, the switch came in 3rd, with sales increasing by 13.6% year-on-year in the first three months of 2020.
The GFK data presented by the Games Industry shows that in the 4 weeks ending April 3, 2021, more than 217,000 consoles were sold and more than 1 million games sold.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ best-selling game of the last 12 months, followed by Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Monster Hunter Rise and Spider-Man: Miles Morals in 4th place. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the 5th best-selling game of the last 12 months, meaning the only non-Nintendo switch game among the best-selling insomnia games.
Sony, the largest jewelry retailer in the UK, is ranked 5th and Pulse 3D headset is ranked 5th, thanks to its best-selling subsidiary dualSense.
