Russian forces have intensified their military offensive on the city of Lysichansk, the last Ukrainian stronghold east of Lugansk, with attacks “in four directions,” Russia’s representative of the self-proclaimed People’s Republic said.
“Most of the towns on the outskirts of Lysekhansk are under the control of the forces of the Lugansk People’s Republic and Russia,” wrote Rodeus Miroshnik on social media.
The representative of the RPL himself also noted that the attack on the city is taking place on four fronts.
Miroshnik stated that in the southern region, at the RTI Rubber Goods Plant, “allied” forces (from the RPL and Russia) “entered the city and carried out “clean-up operations” in the blocks in the region.”
In the north, ‘peacemaking’ forces (RTL and Russia) have advanced into three or four urban blocks, Miroshnik writes. According to the pro-Russian official, the eastern district of Lysichansk is also under attack, as Russian troops cross the Severodones River.
In the southwest, Russian forces use artillery against the “fortifications and tunnels” system where Ukrainian soldiers are stationed.
“God only knows how many will survive this artillery barrage, and after this attack they will not be able to [forças ucranianas] Miroshnik added: Staying in the area for a long time.
The information published by the pro-Russian official has not been confirmed by independent sources.
