The round of 16 of the Portuguese Cup will conclude today, Thursday, with the last two matches of the fifth round being held, and the draw for the quarter-finals will be held, starting next Monday, January 15, at Cidade do Futebol Stadium.
At this stage, we already have six teams who have qualified for the quarter-finals – Sporting, FC Porto, Uniao de Leiria, Gil Vicente, Vizela and Benfica – but we still have to know the results of Thursday's clashes: Santa Clara Nacional (5 p.m. local time, 1 p.m. Other in Lisbon) and V. GuimarĂ£es-Penafiel (8:15 p.m.).
The list of teams qualified for the quarter-finals will therefore be complete on Thursday, but as the regulations require, the Portuguese Football Federation will then have to wait for the results to be approved, before moving on to the knockout stage on Friday. (Quarterfinals).
The draw is scheduled to take place the next morning, Monday, January 15, which is the day on which the second round of the league will also conclude, with the last match of round 17.
