COTEC Portugal, in partnership with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), has announced the launch of a pilot project to support growing companies globally in managing and protecting their intangible assets and industrial property rights.
Since 2021, the Intellectual Property Management Clinic has been present in more than 30 countries around the world, arriving in Europe for the first time through this partnership between COTEC Portugal and WIPO.
The Intellectual Property Management Clinic initiative aims to prepare companies – SMEs, small businesses and startups – with an established business model – by giving them access to a training program with experts and a comprehensive set of resources and guidance to make the most of their intangible assets as an integral part of Part of your business strategies.
In addition to one-on-one mentoring sessions with experts, participating companies will also have the opportunity to access practical tools and resources, as well as workshops and practices, as well as exclusive access to public and international events, networking opportunities and support. The Intellectual Property Management Clinic opens for applications today. Between 15 and 20 companies will be selected, according to their profile, growth strategy and the importance of industrial property in their competitiveness.
The program is free, will last for four months, and will be based on four key moments with participants, starting with an examination of the key intangible assets and their protection case, and the intellectual property strategy, which will be followed by an orientation process in preparing a management and protection plan for the relevant intangible assets.
