Portuguese Airlines Portuguese, operating under the name TAP Express, received the right from the Portuguese aviation authority to increase its fleet to 19 aircraft – the company’s current mandate provides for the operation of 15 aircraft. According to the Portuguese website Observadorthe decision was published in Diário da República on Friday (2).
When consulted by Portuguese news, the airline has yet to provide an answer on when the fleet will be increased and what aircraft will be added. Today, Portugal has 15 Embraer aircraft in service, of which 5 are E195-E1s and 10 are E-190-E1s.
Upon approval, Portugal now has a license to operate 10 aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of 62,000 kg and a capacity of 146 passengers. And the Nine aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of 55,000 kg and carry up to 122 passengers..
The maximum take-off weight of the Embraer E190-E1 (MTOW) is 51800 kg, while the maximum take-off weight of the E195-E1 (MTOW) is 52.290 kg. As mentioned above, both comply with the rules established by the Portuguese authority.
