The Dragons defeated the defending champions 6-2
On Sunday, FC Porto defeated the defending Portuguese Cup champion, SP Tomar, at home, 6-2, the same opponent that eliminated the Dragons in the semi-finals of the previous edition. Thus, the undefeated team qualifies for the quarter-finals of the competition.
At the Dragao Arena, FC Porto scored the only two goals in the first half, and in the second half, the Tomars team appeared for the first time in the match, as the hosts finished with four more goals, while the Tomares overcame the club and scored only one more goal.
The Dragons' goals were scored by Goncalo Alves (2), Helder Nunes, Carlo Di Benedetto, Edu Lamas and Mina, with a goal each. The goals of SP Tomar were scored by Felipe Almeida and Pedro Martinez.
Thus, the Dragons team qualifies for the semi-finals of the final stage of the Portuguese Cup, which will be held on April 27 and 28, at the Pavelhão Municipal de Barcelos Stadium, which has not hosted the final of the first competition since 2013.
The pairs draw and semi-final times will take place on April 4, at 4pm, at the Salão Nobre of the Barcelos City Council.
