“The seed of all this was planted a long time ago,” says Wilson, before we go in any direction. “It was 1990, and Alex Fiorio and I were driving rally cars for Ford. We finished scouting for Mt. [Carlo Rally] At Christmas time that year he spent a few days in Italy with Alex and his family. During our stay, Alex’s father, Cesare, was the sporting director of the Ferrari Formula 1 team, so we went to Ferrari and I took a ride. [Ferrari] F40 with a test drive on the test track in Fiorano.
