Services aimed at the care of women’s health that are performed at Municipal Policlínica, in Juazeiro City Hall, through the Department of Health (Sesau), are praised by patients who follow on site. In pink October, a month referring to women’s health care, patients at the municipal dispensary also draw attention to other women to keep up with check-ups and consultations to prevent diseases such as cervical and breast cancer.
Donna Eva Luan Ramalho, 29, went to the municipal clinic for a second visit with a gynecologist. The patient insists on annual gynecological follow-up. For the first time in the new municipal clinic, she was pleased with the new building. “It is a very clean and very organized environment. I actually came here before the renovation and the situation has completely changed,” he said.
With the renovation carried out by the current administration, a gynecological office was established in the municipal clinic to take care of women’s health. “The implementation of a gynecological office is beautiful. Our most valuable asset is our bodies, and if everything is not lined up, it will not work. Women, take care of yourself!”, Eva Luan highlighted.
Services focused on women’s health in the municipality clinic
The municipal clinic offers many services aimed at women’s health. The specialized unit includes gynecologists who, in addition to consultations, perform colposcopy and cytology examinations, insertion and removal of the IUD. The municipal clinic has an intravaginal ultrasound. The appointment is carried out by the Basic Health Care Units (UBSs) or by the appointment center in Sisau, for priority patients. The Minister of Health of Juazeiro, Fernando Costa, confirmed that “the municipal clinic was also ready to receive the mammography unit and this will increase the services aimed at taking care of women’s health.”
