As part of World Oral Health Day, celebrated on March 20, Pierre Fabre Oral Care has joined the Portuguese League Against Cancer (LPCC) to promote an awareness campaign, through which early detection measures for oral cancer will be implemented.
The group responsible for the brands Elgydium, Eludril and Arthrodont will support the implementation of five days of the show in different parts of the country. The event will start on the 17th in Grandola, followed by Vila Real de Santo António (March 9), Santarem (March 16), Lisbon (March 20) and ending In Cascais (March 30).
Promoting World Oral Health Day is “increasingly important”, because “90% of the world’s population will suffer from oral diseases at some point in their lives. Teeth are a precious asset that we must learn to protect and preserve throughout our lives.”
33 According to the Portuguese League Against Cancer, “Oral cancer remains a disease with high incidence rates and a large number of new cases annually.” In 2020, according to the World Cancer Observatory, 1,103 new cases and 382 deaths due to oral cavity cancer were recorded in Portugal.
