Paul McCartney England’s First Billionaire British Musician (Paul McCartney)
WORLD – Paul McCartney is officially the UK’s first billionaire musician. The Sunday Times, which published the ‘Rich List’ of the country’s 350 richest people, published this information this Friday (17).
The former Beatle and legendary British musician is worth £1 billion. The value is equal to R$6.5 billion.
According to the publication, the 81-year-old musician’s new status is due to several factors, including “a strong tour, a prestigious catalog and a little help from Beyoncé.” The singer recently created a new version of The Beatles’ “Blackbird.”
The fortune catapulted McCartney to 165th place on the list, ahead of dignitaries such as King Charles III, who ranks 258th with a fortune of 610 million pounds or R$3.96 billion.
The family of Indian billionaire Gopi Hinduja took the top spot, worth £37 billion (R$240 billion). He owns an energy and technology finance company.
Following Hinduja is Leonard Blavatnik, a Ukrainian-born British-American who also owns Warner Music Group and the music site Teaser. He has 29.2 billion pounds, roughly R$189 billion.
