The Trofa Saúde group, which already owns the Hospital de Dia da Maia, will present this Thursday the project for the new hospital unit in the neighboring city of Porto, which is expected to enter into operation in 2026.
Almost 13 years after the opening of the Hospital de Dia da Maia, which had more than 40 medical specialties available to outpatients, the Trova Saudé Group will build a new hospital unit in the city, this time with inpatient services.
“The Trofa Saúde group will present tomorrow, July 11, at 11:30 am, in Paços do Concelho da Maia, the project of the new Hospital da Maia, a planned investment of 50 million euros, which should be ready in 2026,” the municipality reveals without details in a note sent to Negócios.
Around 50 million euros is the estimated value of the construction of the new Trofa Saúde Hospital in Penafiel, which will have around 90 beds and is scheduled to open next year.
With twenty operating hospitals and more than two thousand employees, Trofa Saúde is one of the main private groups in the sector in Portugal.
Trofa Saúde was founded in 1999 by José Vila Nova, the current vice-president of the group, which is led by his brother Antonio Vila Nova, who, together with his sister Beatriz (and her husband), controls half of the group’s capital.
