Portuguese private hospitals unanimously re-elected the new governing bodies of the Portuguese Association of Private Hospitals (APHP) for the three-year period 2023-2026. Economist and former Minister of State for Health, Oscar Gaspard, has been reappointed by 108 votes as Chairman of the Board, a position he has held since 2016.
“It is an honor to be elected to a third term in a period in which the APHP is involved in organizing events that make Portugal the main stage for the debate on global health in 2023,” said the African Confederation Vice-President for Public Health in a statement. Executive Committee of the Portuguese Business Confederation (CIP). “We will therefore continue to work so that private hospitals may deserve the increasing confidence of the Portuguese And they have the conditions to enhance both their investments and their commitment to putting the citizen at the center of decisions,” he adds.
Carlos Alcântara (Casa de Saúde Senhor da Serra, Lda), Guilherme Magalhães (José de Mello Saúde / CUF), João Novais (Hospital da Luz, SA), Luís Drummond Borges Martins (Lusíadas, SA), João Pimenta (Hospital Particular do Algarve, SA) and Armando Vieira (Hospital Privado da Trofa, SA) are board members elected for a three-year term 2023-2026.
Lourdes Serra Campos (Santa Maria Hospital Porto) and Manuel de Lemos (Terra Quinte Hospital, SA) will be President of the General Assembly and Chair of the Review Board of the APHP, respectively. This general assembly also formed an advisory board, chaired by Pedro Marcelino (Sanville).
