according to ReutersGerman authorities suspect that a Red Cross nurse injected thousands of people with saline instead of the protective doses against Covid-19.
The case occurred at a vaccination center in the rural northwestern region of Friesland, along the North Sea, during early spring, and nearly 8,600 people are believed to have been affected.
As a precaution, local authorities have already urged potentially affected residents to register for a new dose of the vaccine.
Although this saline solution is harmless, the mere fact that these people were not vaccinated with a dose means that they have been exposed to Covid-19. To make matters worse, the people who had been vaccinated in the respective period in which this seizure might have occurred were elderly people who were at high risk.
According to police investigator Peter Beer, many of the testimonies collected prove “a reasonable suspicion of danger”. The nurse’s motives were not known, but the woman is known to have been skeptical about the role of vaccinations in several posts on social media.
It is not yet known whether the woman has been arrested or prosecuted, and the case has been transferred to a special unit to investigate politically motivated crimes.
