According to the Irish Times, which identified the victim only as a “Portuguese woman,” the latest attack occurred on Wednesday evening, with two photographs appearing in the article, one with broken windows and the other with a vandalized kitchen.
According to the newspaper, the house on Woodville Street, north of Belfast, was attacked on Wednesday by nine men wearing masks and using hammers, around 10:00 pm.
In comments reported by the Irish Times, the Portuguese confirmed another attack on Ainsworth Street, west of Belfast less than a month ago, when one of the attackers attacked her:He told me to go home, but, well, my country is the UK, and if I don’t go fast, all the windows in our house will be shattered and that’s what happened.”
The Portuguese woman, who claims the attacks were carried out by the same group, is staying with her friends and has said she will put the two homes up for sale.
“I’ve lived here for several years and have British citizenship, lived in England and moved to Northern Ireland, but I don’t seem to be welcome.” I finish.
According to the authorities, “the incident is being treated as a racially motivated hate crime, and investigations are ongoing.”
