Axie Infinity, a well-known online video game based on NTFs, was announced in a publishing On a blog I fell victim to one of the biggest cryptocurrency cyber attacks ever on March 29th.
The game, which allows users to earn money while playing, said it recorded losses of 173,600 Ethereum and $25.5 million, a digital currency pegged to the US dollar.
The attackers gained access to the “Ronin Network,” a side chain that allows Axie Infinity players to exchange the cryptocurrency they earn from playing the game.

“The FBI, along with the Department of the Treasury and other US government partners, will continue to expose and combat North Korea’s use of illicit activities — including cybercrime and cryptocurrency theft — to generate revenue for the regime.” It was read in the statement.
The US unit blames APT38 and the Lazarus Group, an unknown cybercriminal group operating on behalf of the North Korean regime, for the attack.
North Korea is one of the few countries that resort to hackers for financial gain with the aim of increasing the country’s revenue. One Report 2020 concluded that the country’s hackers are a team of about 6000 people and that there are many operating from other countries.
