HeyMilitary officials did not provide further details about the ballistic missile, saying only that analysis was underway, according to Yonhap.
North Korea’s official news agency KCNA did not immediately confirm the matter.
This comes just days after North Korea said it had successfully tested a missile with multiple warheads, with South Korea in turn insisting the projectile exploded in flight.
Relations between the two Koreas are currently at their lowest point in years, as Pyongyang has intensified weapons tests while sending balloons filled with garbage south in response to North Korea sending anti-North Korean propaganda from the South.
