Because of the UK’s sanctions against Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, Chelsea have suffered daily consequences off the field. And according to what was published by the Spanish newspaper Marca this Tuesday (5/4), the financial restrictions imposed on the London club.
One of the points highlighted by the newspaper concerns employees who were associated with the Abramovich companies. According to Marca, professionals in areas such as communications, marketing, human resources, medicine, and physical therapy should be excluded.
However, employees who work directly with the core team remain active. In the case of executives, though they remain in office, they cannot take any kind of decision. Contracts are also banned and renewed.
The article also states that in order for the team to face Middlesbrough, in the FA Cup quarter-final on March 19, players had to pay diesel for the bus out of their own pockets to get to the appointment.
The team returns to the field on Wednesday (6/4) to face Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals at Stamford Bridge.
