The President of the National Council of Health (CNS), Fernando Pigato, met on Monday (16/01) with Mario Moreira, the new President of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), one of the most important health science and technology institutions in Latin America. America.
Mario assumed the presidency of the institution after Necia Trindade Lima was appointed to take over the Ministry of Health and will remain in the position until the next presidential election process, which will be held in April.
Mario Moreira has been in Fiocruz since 1994 with a PhD in Public Policy from the Federal University of Paraná, a PhD at the University of Coimbra in Portugal, a Masters in Public Health from the Sergio Arauca National School of Public Health (Ensp / Fiocruz) and in Technologies and Innovation from University of Sussex, UK.
Mario also specializes in Public Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas. In 2017, he became Vice President of Management and Organizational Development at Fiocruz, a position he became CEO last year.
Bigato said when inviting the new president to a meeting with the CNS board of directors, which is scheduled for early February.
