Miguel Oliveira is preparing for the 24 Hours of Barcelona on four wheels and had his first contact with a KTM X-Bow GTX today. “I had a little bit of everything, from the T-shirts to the little touches”Said the Portuguese pilot who, temporarily, replaced the two wheels with four wheels in Montjuïc.
Invited by Hubert Trunkenpolz to participate in the 24 Hours of Barcelona in the controls of a competitive and fast KTM X-Bow GTX game, Miguel Oliveira today, at the same circuit where last June 6 claimed his third MotoGP World win, achieved a special test ride open to all peloton that will start racing in 12 noon next Saturday. A day in which he sought, above all, to discover his rival car for this first race on a track behind the wheel of a car.
“It was, above all, a very interesting first day, of discovery and at the same time of new sensations. I had a little bit of everything, from the rotating surfaces to the little touches, but also a lot of driving pleasure on these wonderful X-Bow controls .”
“It’s completely different to be locked in a car cabin, and you can barely turn your head and see a little outside, but I loved the potential that the KTM has, in terms of engine and braking. With the help of my teammates and coaches, I know I’ll be better tomorrow. Above all else. I want to enjoy and make the most of this invitation, which has left me feeling very proud.”
Without any worries in terms of lap times, the entire team came together so the KTM Factory Racing driver would quickly feel comfortable driving a prototype over 500 horsepower max and weighing just over a ton. A whole new world, but where the Almada pilot felt at home from the very first moment.
