Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was taken to hospital after arriving in Bali, Indonesia, to attend the G20 summit. News agency.
Moscow has already begun to classify the news as “fake”.
The News agency Three Indonesian official sources said that Lavrov was being treated for a heart condition. The sources declined to reveal their identity and did not provide further details.
But the Russian Foreign Ministry said the news was baseless.
“This is high-level fake news,” a spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry said via the digital messaging network Telegram, minutes after the news of Lavrov’s hospitalization in Bali, Indonesia was broadcast.
The spokeswoman then posted a video clip showing the minister in shorts and sitting on a balcony criticizing alleged rumors about his health and advising “Western journalists to write the truth more frequently.”
Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Minister has already responded to the news of his arrest and said that it is all a “political game”.
Sergei Lavrov arrived in Bali on Sunday to represent Russian President Vladimir Putin at the summit.
