The “Holding” company of the Moreira da Silva family notifies AdC about the purchase of Quinta do Vallado
Teak Capital is moving forward by acquiring half of the capital of one of the largest farms in the Douro region, currently owned by the descendants of “Ferreirinha”.
Teak, the “holding company” that brings together the investments of the Moreira da Silva family, has informed the Competition Authority (AdC) about the acquisition of “joint control” of the Quinta do Vallado farm, one of the oldest farms in the Douro region, in the possession of the descendants of Dr. Antonia Ferreira.
In a statement, AdC explains that what is specifically at stake is the acquisition by Teak Capital and eight partners – João Álvares Ribeiro, Inés Ferreira Álvares Ribeiro, María Adelina da Silva Ferreira, María João Ferreira Mesquita, Inés Ferreira Mora Borges , Jorge Maria. Spratly Ferreira, Francisco Spratly Ferreira, and Ana Maria Spratly Ferreira (these are “their initials”) – joint control of Quinta do Valado.
The notification submitted to AdC confirms the news reported by Negócios, in August, that businessman Carlos Moreira da Silva, owner of BA Glass and Cerealis, was in negotiations to acquire Quinta do Vallado, built in 1716. It is not known, however, the value of the operation .
Teak Capital was founded in 1997 and has made more than 40 investments across the industrial, financial, private equity, venture capital, real estate, education and healthcare sectors. In the past five years, it has doubled its asset base, operating in effect as a “family office” for the Moreira da Silva family.
