Microsoft has invested heavily to integrate its AI technologies into as many of the company’s services and products as possible. Among these programs is the company’s suite of productivity software, as part of Microsoft 365.
It is clear that Microsoft’s AI Assistant can further help users in their daily lives. According to the Change list Planned for Microsoft 365, Copilot will soon be able to help users correct incorrect Excel formulas, or provide guides to help create them.
The idea will be to help users create their own versions of productivity software more easily. Formulas tend to be one of the more complex aspects of Excel, although they are also one of the most powerful aspects for everyday tasks.
Microsoft’s idea would be to use artificial intelligence to help create them, thus improving the final productivity of users. Copilot will be able to analyze users’ content, recommend the most adapted formulas for different tasks, create new formulas based on the data used, and even correct existing formulas if there are improvements that can be made.
At the same time, users can use this system in a very simple way, using a natural conversation, just like in the remaining use of Copilot. Microsoft hopes to begin making these new features available in June 2024 to all users of the platform.
