The Municipal Council of Manteigas, in the province of Guarda, unanimously approved a motion demanding that the sanitary expansions not be closed in the parishes of Sameeru and Valle da Amoreira.
“The expected closure of the Mantigas Health Center expansions in these two parishes will increase the difficulties they face, given the percentage of the elderly population with mobility difficulties,” states the document approved at the last meeting of the authority.
In the proposal submitted by the Public Security Directorate, “the lack of public transportation between these two parishes and the provincial headquarters” was also mentioned.
The Mantigas Municipal Council also referred to the “lack of doctors” facing the city’s health center, a situation that the authority deemed necessary to solve.
“Considering that the Mantigas Health Center suffers from a shortage of doctors, it is necessary and urgent to fill this shortfall,” claimed the 19 elected deputies present at the session.
The document, which was approved on April 28, was sent to the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, the President of the Council of the Republic, the Minister of Health, all parliamentary blocs in the Council of the Republic, and the local health unit in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Guarda.
