The Autonomous Region of Madeira will host, between March 29-30, the third edition of the Health District Summit, a hybrid event that brings together senior leaders in health at the regional, national and international levels. An initiative of the regional government through the Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection in direct cooperation with the Fórum do Futuro Hospital and Digital Health Portugal.
This third edition of the District Health Summit brings together in person, in Madeira, online health policy makers from the four Macaronesian archipelagos, and representatives of international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Directorate-General for Regional Policy. And Al-Hadari (Directorate General Region).
The opening ceremony is scheduled for March 29, at 9:30 am, in the auditorium of the Colegio dos Jesuitas, and will be attended by the Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection, Dr. Pedro Ramos, Cape Verdean Minister of State for Health, Dr. Evandro Montero and Dr. Blas Trujillo, who is in charge of health for the Canary Islands government, is among the other guests.
This meeting aims to share experiences between health districts in order to strengthen collaboration between organizations in the field of health, at a time when enhanced dialogue and collaboration are essential to generate synergies, sustainability and health gains.
The event is a hybrid, and will be broadcast from Funchal, the Jesuit auditorium, to the whole world, through the District Health Summit’s YouTube channel and on the social networks of Forum Hospital do Futuro.
The District Health Summit held two previous sessions, one in online format on September 29 and 30, 2020 and the last one in mixed format from April 27-28, 2021. All editions were organized by the Madeira Regional Government in cooperation with the Hospital do Futuro Forum, facilitated by Paulo Nunes Abreu, Certified Professional of IAF – International Association of Facilitators.
