Russia on Monday formalized its protest against a partial blockade imposed by Lithuania on the transit of goods into the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad and demanded the diplomatic representative of Vilnius in Moscow to lift the measure immediately.
The Lithuanian authorities, as of Saturday, restricted the file of Railroad transit through its territory to Kaliningrad in the framework of the sanctions imposed by the European Union against Russia to invade Ukraine.
Kremlin spokesman (presidency) Dmitry Peskovsaid that Lithuania’s decision was illegal and warned that Moscow was considering a response.
“This is an unprecedented decision, a complete violation. We understand that this is related to the corresponding decision of the European Union to extend traffic sanctions [de mercadorias).
