Automated server
The device is named LG Agent for Smart Home AI It follows the line of other technology-enabled domestic products, designed to connect and optimize home operations.
The model is presented by the company as a “versatile home manager and companion all rolled into one device” and combines artificial intelligence, voice and image recognition, and natural language processing.
What a robot can do
- LG provides some examples of automated server applications. You can use it to greet and greet visitors at the door, and get details about weather information, calendar appointments, and reminders (similar to what other assistants already do).
- The difference is that the robot can predict the owner's mood using voice and facial expression analysis features. Thus, it can, for example, suggest songs and other types of content based on the score.
- Furthermore, the company claims that the AI Server acts as a “mobile home hub,” being able to connect home appliances and manage them using the Qualcomm Robotics RB5 platform, which is responsible for the robot’s artificial intelligence. This news may indicate that LG is following the trend of improving home operations with fewer resources.
- Other built-in sensors, in addition to the camera and speaker, allow the device to monitor and adjust home data, such as changing the room temperature or turning off lights in empty spaces. You can also use it as a pet or baby monitor, or even as a security camera, sending notifications to the owner.
