LeBron James doesn’t like the new Twitter update.
LeBron James He is the latest celebrity to publicly address the news of paying for the verification mark on Twitter. Since taking over the social networking platform, Elon Musk Make a decision to charge users to become official accounts. While most of them were disappointed with the decision. Some have embraced the idea and paid to make the account official. James is clearly not one of those people.
The Los Angeles Lakers star let his Twitter followers know his intent on the new stipulation. Like most social networks, James will not buy your blue check mark. The cost of making your account official is $5 per month. What might seem like a small amount to someone like LeBron, the purchase seems strange.
Social media has always been a place to communicate for free. Twitter, along with the Metaverse, will soon make this a thing of the past. Starting this weekend, those who do not pay for the official visa will lose their visa code. The era of bots and registration accounts has already been on the rise. Surely, users of the platform will now see these fake accounts more.
Twitter seems to have been doing quite well before Musk’s $44 billion purchase. Now the changes seem to have frustrated users who weren’t disappointed before. With more big stars like James following their lead, Twitter may soon become a misinformation problem.
Twitter has been a great place to find news and connect with those we wouldn’t normally meet. The main reason why so many users are on the site is to follow their favorite stars. While yes, they can still go on, without the official checkmark, fans may have a hard time trusting what is being said.
