During life, our body, including the bone part, goes through several transformations. To maintain your health, you need to pay attention to your eating habits.
Nutritionist Fernanda Brunacci, from Abraso (Brazilian Association for Bone Evaluation and Bone Metabolism), says that bone health depends on good proteins, and therefore suggests consuming lean meat, milk and dairy products.
“In addition to muscle health, proteins provide benefits for bone health. “It is important that they are well distributed throughout the day, forming part of the main meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner,” explains Fernanda.
Another tip from the pro is to determine the dosage of coffee. The drink leads to the excretion of large amounts of calcium, which is important for bones, in the urine. Fernanda suggests limiting coffee consumption to three cups per day, and preferably adding milk to the drink. She says: “If you consume coffee with milk, which contains more milk than coffee, it will not harm your bones.”
