The first and second seeds in the tournament WTA 250 from BirminghamIn the United Kingdom, Czech Barbora Krejcikova and Latvian Jelena Ostapenko qualified for the final on Saturday after defeating China’s Zhou Lin and Russia’s Anastasia Potapova, respectively.
Krejcikova, ranked 12th in the world, hasn’t been stopped so far this week because she didn’t drop a set. She defeated Zhou Lin 6-3, 6-2.
Roland Garros 2021 champion said: “I am really happy with the way I played today. It is always difficult to play on grass because the game can change very quickly, so I am happy with the way I approached the match and got involved in the end.”
Ostapenko, on the other hand, had to play a decisive set in all four matches in Birmingham and made his way to his first final of the season.

Latvia fought back after losing the first set to fourth seed Anastasia Potapova and won the match 5-7, 6-2, 6-4.
“In every match I have little ups and downs, but in general I am happy to pass this duel,” said Ostapenko.
“It’s important to win those matches where sometimes you don’t play your best, but you just fight for every point.”
Krejcikova appears to be the favorite, but Ostapenko has won four of the six meetings between the two teams, including 2 sets to 0 wins with “tires” the last time they met, in May, in Rome.
