The Municipal Health Department of Carmo do Rio Claro announced, through health surveillance, that the first suspected case of monkeypox (monkeypox) has been reported. This is a 31-year-old male who developed symptoms such as: chills, cough, swollen lymph nodes in the neck and skin lesions. Upon seeking medical care at the FHS, he was immediately treated by the entire health team, and placed in isolation to monitor the development of lesions.
The patient was notified in the system and material was collected to be sent to FUNED at Belo Horizonte – MG, for confirmation or disposal by laboratory testing. All health teams were trained and prepared for monkeypox-related care.
After receiving the laboratory results, it will be announced whether the suspicion has been confirmed or not. The patient remains in home isolation without worsening or deteriorating his health condition. All recommendations issued by the Ministry of Health and specific technical notes are followed.
If you have been in contact with a suspected or confirmed case of the disease, when you notice similar symptoms, or lesions on the skin and / or mucous membranes, seek care from the nearest specialist and avoid contact with other people.
