Hey The 15-year-old son of Russia’s Chechen Republic leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, who was filmed attacking a prisoner accused of burning the Holy Quran, has become a high-ranking bodyguard, Reuters reported. Adam Kadyrov was appointed head of the department responsible for ensuring the security of the Chechen leader, becoming one of his father’s main bodyguards.
According to Reuters, this information was confirmed by Zamid Shalev, one of the main people responsible for Kadyrov’s security.
Moreover, Akhmad Dudayev, one of the Chechen leader’s closest allies, sent a telegram to congratulate the young man. “I sincerely congratulate… Adam Kadyrov on his appointment to an important position in the security service of the President of the Chechen Republic!“, he wrote.
It should be noted that Adam Kadyrov, who turns 16 this month, got into controversy after his father, last September, published a video clip in which the young man was seen beating a prisoner.
At the time, the Chechen leader said he was “proud” of his son, who was widely condemned, including by some pro-Kremlin extremists. “Without exaggeration, yes, I am proud of Adam’s actions. He has always been distinguished by his desire to grow not among his peers, but among his elders, which made him form the ideals of honor, dignity and defense of his religion. He emphasized respect for his choice.
The Russian Information Agency revealed on Saturday that the young man was awarded the title of Hero of Chechnya last October.
