This Wednesday kicks off the 30th anniversary of the Paredes de Cura Festival, which will feature Wilco, Walkman, Fiverr Ray, Jessie Ware or Little Sims to Alto Minho concerts. To BLITZ, director João Carvalho spoke about this year’s edition and the path the festival has followed, in his words, “completely isolated”, until 2023.
How are the preparations for the festival going?
This year, the festival is progressing further than it has ever been, because we had this concern: that teams remain at the top, after Primavera [Sound do Porto, em Junho], then came to Paredes de Coura. We always treat the earth with great affection, but this year we did it with even greater commitment, [criando] New, more beautiful camping areas, more signs, with more bathrooms, more conditions, more rest areas … The more you start preparing for the festival, the more time you will have for the details. The preparations are going well and the space is very beautiful, very green, probably the result of these weather changes: now it rains, now the sun comes up, and it is good for the lawn.
