The United States has also expressed concern about the case, with National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan saying that “the torture and abuse of political prisoners like Ronaghi must stop.”
The director of the Iranian NGO for human rights, Mahmoud Amiri Moghadam, said Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Iranian leaders are responsible for Ronaghi’s health.
He pointed out that “Hussain Ronaghi’s life is in great danger. We ask the international community to do everything in its power to save his life and the lives of other detainees who are currently at risk.”
