There have been rumors for some time about the possibility that with the new iPhone 15, Apple will finally put physical buttons aside. Instead, the company could use capacitive buttons – which could have advantages for maintaining good protection against water and dust in the devices.
Despite the rumors, little is known about how these buttons actually look. However, some images have been revealed recently, which were generated from renders of the iPhone 15 Pro, which seem to indicate details about it.
The photos were shared by the leaker shrimp on Twitter, apparently leaving more details on how the new capacitive buttons will be integrated into the body of the device. In the case of the volume button, it should have a long surface that can be used for the tasks the system will perform with it – perhaps for swiping as a way to control volume, as well as for touch, of course.
It also appears that the button dedicated to activating the silent mode has been replaced by a single button, which can be used to activate and deactivate the function at the same time.
However, it should be noted that the novelty of capacitive buttons should only be integrated into the Pro models, and the base iPhone 15 should still maintain the traditional physical buttons in the structure. Eventually Apple should get rid of them, but only in future versions of the iPhone.
It should be noted that despite this news, it should still be treated as rumours. Officially, Apple doesn’t leave out details about its future generation of products, and probably shouldn’t do so until it’s officially confirmed.
