International observers who came to Brazil for the elections on Monday (3/10) praised the conduct of the electoral judiciary vote. Various entities stated that the first round of elections was “perfect” and “safe”. This year, about 500 domestic and international guest observers and guests have been accredited by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), a record number.
The American Conference of Sub-national Electoral Organizations for Election Transparency (KAUSTI) wrote on Monday (10/3) that the vote was a “model democratic journey.”
“The use of electronic means of voting has been proven to be safe, reliable and fast,” the CPLP constituency said in a preliminary statement on Sunday (2/10). “The elections met international requirements,” the document, signed by the Brazilian entity Transparencia Eletoral, continued.
The Brazilian elections were also praised by international authorities, such as Anthony Blinken, United States Secretary of State; Heiko Toms, Ambassador of Germany. Brigitte Colette, Ambassador of France. Melanie Hopkins, Chargé d’Affairs at the UK Embassy. and Laura Chinchilla, former president of Costa Rica.
“We congratulate the people and institutions of Brazil on a successful first round,” Blinken said. “Brazilian democracy and its institutions have once again demonstrated their strength, with exemplary organization and leadership,” the German ambassador said. In turn, the French ambassador said that she was “impressed by the organization of the vote.”
