The family was talking daily with Eunice Muñoz, who turned 93, on July 30, and Antonio Muñoz, to Lux, he updated the health of his mother, who had been admitted to the Hospital de Santa Cruz, in Carnacide, since July 24: My mother is fine. The producer explained that he is being monitored and undergoes various tests, adding: “Hospitalization was an option for the doctors and for us, so that instead of being on an outpatient basis, she could stay in the hospital for her tests.”
There are no expectations of a spike yet, but Antonio Muñoz assures us: “We’re not worried. Mom is actually fine, we talk every day, she’s in a good mood. Doctors are basically trying to restore his energy and well-being.” Since April, Eunice Muñoz has been touring the country with the play “Margem do Tempo”, along with her granddaughter, Lydia Muñoz. The two have already visited several cities, including Caldas da Rainha, Arcos de Valdives, Viana do Castelo, Leiria, Ogueda or Bragança.
On July 24, they were going to perform in Lagos when the actress felt “a bit tired and weak”, which led to her being hospitalized “for a full evaluation”.
However, the first news that emerged about her health condition was alarming and prompted Eunice Muñoz’s granddaughter to turn to social media for denial: “The news that was spread about my grandmother is not true. She was admitted to the hospital, but she did not suffer any heart attack or stroke. I ask them to respect their recovery and the privacy of the whole family,” explained Lydia Muñoz.
“À Margem do Tempo” marks a farewell to the stage of an actress, after 80 years of great and wonderful work, which made Eunice Muñoz one of the greatest Portuguese actresses of all time: “It has been a very happy 80 years of gratitude,” recently in an interview with TVI. To celebrate these eight decades of representation, Marcelo Rebelo de Souza Eunice Muñoz awarded the Grand Cross of the Military Order of Santiago da Espada, in a ceremony held in April at the Eunice Muñoz Auditorium, in Oeiras.
