The Portuguese company Ibersol, which is currently negotiating the sale of Burger King restaurants in Portugal and Spain, in a deal worth 250 million euros, has signed an agreement to manage another restaurant business in the Iberian Peninsula: Pret A Manger Cafés.
The British fast-food chain, founded more than 30 years ago in London, has signed an agreement with Ibersol to take the Pret brand to Portugal and Spain.
“The agreement with Pret A Manger provides for the opening of 70 new units in Portugal and Spain over the next 10 years, with presence both in the retail and in the retail sector. Travel‘,” Ibersol says in a statement to the Securities Exchange Commission (CMVM).
“Pret A Manger is currently a company with more than 570 units spread across six markets: the United Kingdom, the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and Europe (France, Switzerland, Belgium and Germany),” adds Ibersol.
Ibersol has been negotiating for several months with Restaurant Brands Iberia to sell Burger King restaurants in Portugal and Spain, worth 250 million euros.
The Portuguese company also operates other brands in the restaurant sector, such as Pans & Company, KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and others.
