Iberdrola has announced the issuance of the Iberdrola Supera Awards, which are solidarity prizes aimed at promoting gender equality, awarding €300,000 to the best projects promoting women’s excellence through sport.
This is the fourth edition of this initiative that is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, specifically with Goal 5 (Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women), and the desire to increase the support it provides to female athletes to help. They achieve their goals and advance in equality.
In this edition, in addition to the five fixed categories, the Iberdrola Supera Inovação Award will be added, a distinction for the project that best defends, among its objectives, the promotion of research, development and innovation in the field of sport.
Thus, the fourth edition will include six categories commensurate with the projects that will compete for 50 thousand euros for each category, with a total of 300 thousand euros.
Thus, the categories distinguish projects related to the promotion of popular sports among girls up to the age of 16 (Supra rule); support for the participation of women in the competition (Supra competition); With the inclusion of women with special abilities in sports (Supera Inclusão); With the integration of women into society through sports (Social Supera); And with the increased visibility of women’s sports (Supera Divulgation), in addition to the previously mentioned Supera Inovação.
Applications can be submitted until June 4.
The 2022 edition received more than 600 applications from associations, clubs, sports federations, schools, institutes, and public or private entities.
