Evidence of love for the Premier League club was not lost on the England striker, giving him the chance to watch a game in London.
A pair of Spurs fans, from Dallas (USA) to Burnley (England), traveled for more than 31 hours, to watch the Spurs game against the local team, scheduled for last Sunday, but to no avail, as they were stopped in the last hour due to snow.
“From Dallas to London, then Burnley (we’re almost done), 31 hours, sleepless, fueled by coffee and cheese crackers and more coffee. It’s a cold, snowy day for game day. Our club,” the pair wrote, on Twitter, en route. Already to Burnley.
This evidence of love for the Premier League club was not lost on Harry Kane. Confronted by marital publications and “desolate”, the Tottenham striker later decided to make up for his dedication with an invitation.
The Englishman replied on Twitter: “I got this tweet and it’s totally destroyed for you. It is the obligation, to make up for this cancellation, to invite you to the next home game the next time you come to London.”
The Spurs fan couple chose to “accept the offer”, made a note and thanked the support they received for the long crossing that took place without purpose. Thank you to all the Spurs fans (and others) who have reached out to them [connosco]. It was really cool,” he tweeted.
Burnley and Tottenham were on their way to face each other, last Sunday, in the match of the 13th round of the English Premier League, but the duel was stopped due to heavy snowfall in the city in the east of Lancashire.
