Committed to partnering with Devialet, Huawei’s new Sound Joy is a powerful Bluetooth 5.2 speaker thanks to the use of a 19mm front-facing tweeter, 10W of power and a 20W (75x50mm) elliptical tweeter. The assembly is further enhanced by the presence of two passive radiators at the shaft ends.
At the top, the size of a pint water bottle, is an RGB lighting ring, which can be synchronized to interact with the music being played, but always with a very discreet result, unlike some models of competing brands. The mesh finish ensures an attractive finish, and also contributes to the IP67 certification.
On one side there are two large buttons for adjusting the volume; On the other side, we have a bar with the various buttons that allow you to turn the speaker on, play or pause, activate the voice assistant, pair via Bluetooth and sync with another Sound Joy speaker, for a more immersive experience. The 8800 mAh battery guarantees up to 26 hours of autonomy, with fast charging technology (40W) that allows ten minutes of charging to last up to an hour.
In terms of sound quality, the Sound Joy is indeed a powerful amplifier, but its development gave high priority to low frequency reproduction, reducing the capabilities of mid and high frequencies. This situation can be compensated for by equalization adjustments in the mobile application (Huawei AI Life), but this does not compensate if you need to turn up the volume, at which time the variance in the reproduction amplitude of different frequencies increases. If you are an audio enthusiast or a demanding user looking for a hi-fi solution, you may want to consider other solutions, but other than that, Huawei Sound Joy is an amazing speaker.
