Thursday the 31st is celebrated as Dietitians Day, professionals who play a vital role in promoting the health and recovery of patients in hospital, ensuring their nutritional needs are met in an appropriate and personalized way. This greatly contributes to the success of care treatment and improves the quality of life of patients who follow a healthy diet.

Nutrition in the hospital is a very important area of treatment for a patient’s nutritional therapy, as it is a crucial factor in patients’ recovery, explains Renata Vio, SND coordinator. During the hospital stay, the dietitian performs nutritional examination and assessment, and applies individual goals with the aim of meeting nutritional needs and accelerating the recovery process.
“One stream is menu planning, including cleaning, preparation, transportation and distribution of meals, according to patient safety protocols. They eat six meals a day: breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner and supper.
