The kidney transplant service at Hospital Estadual Alberto Rassi – HGG, a unit of the Government of Goiás, has been rated at level A, the highest score in the evaluation of indicators of the Quality Program in the Donation and Transplantation Process (Qualidot), established by the Ministry of Health in 2022. The program has reached To the highest level of points in evaluating indicators such as quality and safety in organ transplant operations by method, which confirms excellence in assistance and continuous growth of services.
The Level A classification allows the hospital’s kidney transplant service to obtain a financial increase of 80%, which the Ministry of Health allocates to performing operations in the unit. As a result, the Goiás State Ministry of Health (SES-GO) now receives R$ 14,921.21 for every kidney transplant performed in the unit. Previously, the amount transferred by the Ministry of Health was R$8,289.56.
According to the Ministry of Health, this addition seeks to improve the quality of services in the National Organ Transplantation System (SNT), and will also affect pre- and post-transplant procedures, in addition to the treatment of post-transplant complications. HGG is a reference in kidney transplant service. Founded in 2017, the health unit has performed 865 surgeries since then, making HGG the largest kidney transplant hospital in central-west Brazil.
The data places the state of Goiás in 10th place in terms of the number of this type of procedure in the country, according to a survey published in September 2023, by the Brazilian Organ Transplantation Registry (RBT), affiliated with the Brazilian Association of Organ Transplantation (ABTO). On Friday (19/01), HGG launched Vozes do HGG Podcast, the first podcast of the Public Health Network of Goiás, produced by the Communications Office of the Institute of Technological and Human Development – Idtech, a social organization responsible for the management of the hospital. The new project features in Its first episode, with the kidney transplant service in the hospital, with testimonials from the State Secretary of Health, Sergio Vincio, transplant patients and doctors who coordinate the service in the unit.
Vozes do HGG episodes will be released every two weeks, in the form of major reports. The goal of Idtech's new communications product is to increase awareness of the services offered by HGG, as well as serve as a source of information for those passionate about public health.
