After spending a lifetime’s savings, Kylie Stead, 27, was left hanging at the altar last Thursday, September 15. The bride and groom were about to tie the knot in a hotel on the south coast of Wales, UK, after nearly four years of relationship, but the groom never showed up. It was her mother-in-law who broke the news to Kylie, and she came forward Wales on the Internet.
“I saw that a missed call from his mother. I called her again and she was crying. She told me he had gone for a car ride in the morning and he was gone.” She added that the absence of her future husband did not make her nervous, because she believed “in her heart that he will be there.”
Since they agreed not to speak the day before the wedding, Kylie saw her partner “around 4pm the day before” and hasn’t heard from her since. “I didn’t get any explanation, I don’t want it now because it has gone too far,” the Welsh newspaper quoted the bride as saying.
The result of what should have been the most memorable day of her life was an “absolute shock”, but Kylie was determined to turn the tide, justifying the £12,000 she had invested in the party (equivalent to around €13,490). So, seeing his friends and family “upset”, he decided to continue the party as if nothing had happened. “I didn’t want to go back to that day with deep sadness,” he explained.
So he went ahead with everything he had planned. From the party entrance to the speeches usually given between sessions, passing through the dances, Kylie has done it all herself. All this in the presence of a professional photographer who captured every moment of the extraordinary ceremony. “I spent all that money. I was looking forward to food, dancing with my dad, spending time with my family, so why not [continuar com a cerimónia]? The bride justified.
Of course, when she got confirmation that her fiancé would not attend, the young woman broke down. But Kylie admits that her sister was the motivation she needed to keep the party going. “My sister was reapplying my makeup. When she said, ‘Why don’t you do this, Kylie?'” “That’s when I decided [que o ia fazer]”, He said.
After ordering 10 minutes to eat himself, he shared the night away with the guests. The party ended in the bridal suite with the bridesmaid and one of her best friends. Although her honeymoon in Turkey wasn’t quite as efficient, Kylie says she’s adjusting to life as the new single – and there’s even a donation page on the site. GoFundMe to help you reboot.
