Helldivers II continues to be a smash hit for Sony on Steam, having now surpassed Grand Theft Auto V's record for concurrent players. Its all-time peak is now 409,367, which is higher than the peak of 360,761 achieved by GTA V.
With player numbers growing, the studio has capped the number of concurrent players at 450,000 while it works to fix the game's server issues. In the The official discord gameArrowhead said so “Works all the time” To solve problems arising from its launch.
“Hey divers! Earlier this evening we encountered server issues with a high number of concurrent players,” Arrowhead wrote. “This has resulted in some mission payments failing, some players being kicked back to their ships, or being disconnected.
“Our team is working around the clock to resolve these issues. While we have been able to mitigate some of the causes, we are still struggling to keep up with the scale required to accommodate all of our Helldivers.
“Therefore, we had to cap our maximum number of concurrent players at around 450,000 to improve server stability. We will continue to work with our partners to raise the cap.
“If you experience progress issues, please restart the game to get things in sync again. Thank you for your continued patience!”
