In order to reduce the influx of patients in the emergency medical-surgical service of the Hospital José Joaquim Fernández de Beja, the Board of Directors of the Baixo Alentejo Local Health Unit (ULSBA) organized an “integrated response” consisting of implementing the “opening of consultations” in the health centers of the district from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., including the two centers in the city, until the end of this month.
ULSBA reports that emergency services at Baja Hospital and basic emergency services in Mora and Castro Verde are fully operational and without any restrictions 24 hours a day.
The ULSBA also reveals that “during the coming weekends, and until the end of January this year, on Saturdays and Sundays, the open consultation system for acute diseases will operate, at the Beja Health Centre, on Rua de José do Patrocinho Dias, as the Alfa Beja Family Health Unit.” , on Rua Rainha D. Amélia, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., for all residents in the area covered by the Baixo Alentejo Local Health Unit, regardless of area of residence.”
The following ULSBA health units are also open, under an open acute consultation system:
– Aljustrel Health Center, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm;
– Almodovar Health Center, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm;
– Cuba Health Center, Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sundays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM;
– Ferreira do Alentejo Health Center, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm;
– Mertola Health Center, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm;
– Ourik Health Center, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Given the period of high rates of respiratory infections that we are currently experiencing and the pressure we feel in the Emergency Medical Surgical Service of the Hospital José Joaquim Fernández de Beja, users/patients in the area covered by ULSBA are also requested that in case of illness, call Saúde 24 (808 242 424) or 112 in case of emergency to obtain a better referral, and avoid direct resort to the hospital emergency service.
