Former Brazilian President Lula da Silva, 76, twice widowed, leader of the October presidential race, will marry this Wednesday in Sao Paulo for the third time, this time to sociologist Rosângela Silva, 55, and Ganga, with whom he already lives. The former foreman spared no expense and held the ceremony in one of the most developed places in the city, Villa Bisotti.
The bride and groom did everything to keep the ceremony secret, so much so that the location discovered by the press was not even mentioned in the invitation and would only be revealed shortly before through a QR code, but some details were revealed. In contrast to Lula, who preferred a more intimate party, 220 people were invited to the party in the elegant Vila Olímpia neighborhood, in which Rua do Buffet was closed, and they had at their disposal 11 islands with dishes of different origins, from Arabic food to succulents, meats, salads, desserts , all washed down with premium brews, including special wines imported from Argentina and Spain that the presidential candidate paid for separately, while famous artists performed on stage.
The list of invitees has also not been revealed, but behind-the-scenes information reveals politicians such as former President Dilma Rousseff, the leader of the Workers’ Party, Gliese Hoffmann and Fernando Haddad, the former mayor of São Paulo and a candidate for governor of São Paulo state. He was on the list in the October elections, in addition to a number of deputies, senators and former ministers. Among the performers, Gilberto Gil, Daniela Mercury and Chico Puarque de Hollanda were part of the guest list, but the latter warned that he would not be able to attend.
In an effort to maintain as much secrecy as possible about what was going on inside, a barricade was set up in front of Villa Bisotti and a crowd of space security guards mobilized, if not for himself and the cops. All Villa Bisutti and security staff were prevented from using cell phones that night, and in an invitation to the party, the guests themselves were instructed not to take this equipment or, at least, not use it.
