Russia’s largest taxi company was hit by a cyber attack on Thursday that forced dozens of cars to take fake orders for services in central Moscow, causing a traffic jam in the capital. The attack was confirmed by Yandex Taxi in Forbes.
Drivers were called to the Kutuzovsky Prospekt, an important street in the western part of the Russian capital. Yandex Taxi’s statement confirms that workers were paralyzed for 40 minutes, but Forbes It states that the traffic lasted for two hours.
A video clip was circulated on social media showing several yellow or white cars trying to escape from the long queues that formed inside the Russian capital.

The company suspended service orders until traffic was dispersed. The situation returned to normal, and after the computer’s intervention, the Yandex Taxi company returned to work. According to the company, the system’s security has already been improved to prevent similar attacks in the future.
