Google Maps for mobile has been letting you save the location of your parking lot for a few years now. Now, this functionality is available in Android Auto, the version of Google’s automotive operating system. This is what the site said 9to5Google Last Thursday (7).
The new feature appears on the map of the car app itself. To use it, you need to select a location to be guided by navigation. Upon arrival at the destination, Google Maps displays a “Save Parking” button (translated for free).
Now just click on Converts. When enabled, the key activates a feature that stores the location where the user parked the vehicle. Moreover, on Android mobile phones, the app also issues a reminder to remember the whereabouts of the car.
In other words, you can do everything from the car, without having to touch your cell phone.
Also according to the specialized site, the new feature was introduced in the latest version of the Google Maps application for Android Auto. But the tool may need more time to be released to all users.
So far, there is no information about the notification’s release on iPhone (iOS).
Cell phone maps also indicate parking locations
The new feature is an extension of a very useful feature that already exists in Google Maps for Android and iPhone (iOS). Since 2017, Google Maps has had a native option to indicate where a car is parked.
To use it, simply tap on the blue ball, which indicates your GPS location. Then press the “Save Vehicle Position” button to record the vehicle’s location.
The tool also allows you to include other information about the vacancy. Among them is the option to include the time remaining to collect the car. You can also enter notes.
Additionally, Google Maps also gives you a notification so you don’t forget where you left off.
