Google recently announced its highly anticipated Pixel 9 lineup, which includes three new smartphones and a foldable model. All models feature an updated design with an oval camera module, Google’s updated G4 Tensor chip, improved battery life, and a new satellite SOS feature.
Pricing for the new devices starts at $799 (€724) for the Pixel 9, rising to $999 (€906) for the Pixel 9 Pro and $1,099 (€997) for the Pixel 9 Pro XL. The first models are scheduled to ship on August 22, with the smaller Pixel 9 Pro available in September.
In addition to smartphones, Google introduced the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, a foldable device that comes with significant improvements, such as an 8-inch internal display with a maximum brightness of 2,700 nits, compared to 1,450 nits for the previous model. This model will cost $ 1,799 (€ 1,632) and will be available from September 4.
The new Pixel devices also include Gemini AI and two new AI apps: Pixel Screenshots, for searching for information in saved screenshots, and Pixel Studio, a text-based image generator. Google also introduced new AI photo editing tools, like the “Add me” option and the Magic Editor, which now lets you replace entire parts of an image with AI-generated ones.
Google also updated its smartwatch with the Pixel Watch 3, which has new fitness features and a brighter display. Additionally, the new Pixel Buds Pro 2 are lighter, feature better noise cancellation, and up to 30 hours of battery life.
