WLThe producer of oysters, from which three tons were stolen, decided to find a new way to get to the thieves of this oyster. Christophe Ginot, 60, a French citizen, decided to put notes with a message inside the shells so that the police could track down who sold them.
According to Reuters, this method has been around for some time, and after Ginot began using it, he has never been the victim of any theft. The French commented on this by saying: “This had a deterrent effect.”
With the paper inside the oyster, whoever buys it receives a message: “He gained weight in the oyster! Claim the prize.” This way, anyone who complains will be asked where to buy it, and if a ginot doesn’t provide them anywhere, they will be able to alert authorities with clues about who stole them.
Oysters are a target for theft because they are profitable and considered a luxury food. For example, in the famous Chez Françoise restaurant, located in the center of Paris, a plate of six high-quality oysters costs 24 euros. The demand is greatest during the festive seasons specifically, which also makes this period the most attractive period for thieves.
